As visitors from North Carolina, we met with friends for lunch who had been there numerous times. They said it was always very good. On our visit, we found the food quite good. However, we had a little waiter with an attitude who gave very poor service. He brought one of us the wrong food and got upset when he was asked to bring what we ordered. Dessert and coffee were good, but then we got the bill. It was not itemized and I just paid it. However, it seemed quite high and when we got home to NC we checked the menu on line and saw how we got ripped off by about $12. It made me realize that the waiter screwed us and for that reason we will never return.
The decor was nice, the food was decent but the service was awful! We were a table of four and when we asked for an appetizer we were told they were "all out." The dish consisted of calamari and shrimp, yet when we ordered dishes with those two ingredients they had them. Then later in the evening I ordered a Frappe and they once again were "all out." I'm not sure how you can be out of so many things at 6pm on a Saturday night but the either the purchaser was negligent or the waiter was lazy. Even if our server was lazy I could have taken that if he wasn't so rude throughout the meal. I will never go back
The food was ok. The sauce they use to mix the rice in tasted like ketchup mixed with marinara. The lamb was decent, just fell off the bone which was convenient. The saganaki you can't really go wrong with, so that was good. The salads were just like any other. The worst part of this experience was the short almost balding waitor. He was very impatient and seemed to be rushing us for our order. When we asked for suggestions, he wasn't very helpful either. It was our first time there and he just acted like he didn't want to be there. I would not return to this place. It is overpriced. It is not $4-$10, but more like $18 for an entree. It's very plain too, just rice and meat, it isn't a big portion, and the only reason we were full was because we ordered appetizer and salads and desserts. This place was a rip off and I highly recommend not to go there. The service alone will make you want to leave right away.
