We have used Purple Heart Veterans pick-up for years out in the Frankfort area. The woman who calls is always pleasant and friendly. She tells us the date that they will be out and they have never once missed a pick-up. They offer a very convenient service with the benefit of a tax write-off at the end of the year. This is the 4th time Purple Hearts has solicited me to donate items. This is also the 4th time Purple Hearts has dropped the ball on picking our items up. What's the point? I struggle to haul large boxes to our porch with the intent to donate. I will never respond to these guys again. Maybe the idea of charity is there...but the professionalism is NOT. I've tried other services as well and the same thing over and over again..."Ooops we're sorry we messed up." I will happily sell my stuff at a garage sale and at least make a profit on things I have already purchased. DON'T USE THIS SERVICE. Oh and FYI, it's not like the clothing is inaccessible or in a bad area either.
