Dragon Light Restaurant

We will not eat again in this restaurant. Me and my husband supposedly have a good dinner out because it's our first month of being married. The food is good and seems to be that the service is nice. Then, my husband paid our meal using his card, then wrote a 2 dollar tip which that's we usually tip when we dine out. We're heading out of the door when the waiter approached us and told us that our tip isn't enough. He said we should give 17% of our bill as tip to him. Then, my husband was offended. He was blocking our way, and insisting we should give more. I don't want to ruin our night because of the rude waiter and I wanted to have my husband out of the restaurant while he was still kinda cool, so I took my wallet and get $3.10 to give the tip that the waiter wanted.
This is so annoying because giving tip isn't compulsory and no legal rules that we need to give tip. Too bad, I am Asian and usually like to eat Asian food. There's a lot of Chinese restaurant around the place, they just lost potential customers. We're even planning to bring our friends over, but will not ever come back on this restaurant.

my husband and I ordered our dinners. I had a few questions about the lemon chicken on the menu. The waiter explained how it was prepared, I asked if it was really sweet. He said not real sweet. So I ordered the Lemon chicken, my husband had the tomato pepper steak. Once the food arrived the waiter never returned other then to ask if we wanted our bill. I explained to the waiter when he did come back to give us the check, it was terrible, tough, sweet like a bag of sugar and it was just not good. I ate my husbands entree with him because our waiter never came back. two bites were missing out of this whole entree and it took up the entire oval plate. They knew I did not eat any of it.

The manager came over and basically told me I was paying for it because I could have got up and found the manager at the front and it could have been taken care of. No sorry. I'm a fine dining server and I don't expect to get up and find anyone. The reason I'm dining out is to be waited on, not to babysit your server. Sorry. Then he told me what do you want me to do with this food, I can't reuse this so I have to throw it out. Well no kidding. Or do they reuse people food left behind? Hmmmmm. then he said I had to order something else. Why I ate 1/2 my husbands. So needless to say the manager would not budge on me not paying for this food, So I had to order something else and take it home.

Now what is the point of this. It was not about not paying for the food I did not eat. It was this. What the hell happened to the server while we were eating? did he get in trouble NO!!!! But they made me order another meal and take it home, because the manager said he lost money! Would you ever tell your customers that you lost money one a meal that they did not like. Wouldn't you hope they come again????????????? WOW what a stupid owner. He just lost a few customers on this one.

Then the server came over while the manager was still yelling at me over this rotten meal and do you think he ever asked the server "why did you not check back with your table" No he did not. The server never said a word.

But this is the best 15 minutes after we finally got our meal to go, walked to the front to pay. And guess whats sitting on the bar? My lemon chicken with a fork in it as if someone was eating it. I would not go to this resaurant ever. I wonder what they do with everyones scraps left on the table. OMG I will never ever eat here again. How sick is that?

The food was very tasty. I had the Mandarin Pork, which had this nice smoky flavor. My friends ordered the garlic veggies, which were great but very spicy and sesame chicken, which was also great but oddly enough, came with tiny corn cobbs in it. However the portions are HUGE and one plate can feed two people, especially if you get appetizers. We got crab rangoons and they were crunchy and very tasty. The price for all that food was reasonable and we took home a TON of leftovers.

The decor was ok, nothing great but not at all sketchy. Clean and reasonable. Nice bathrooms.

The service was great. Our waiter was nice, prompt, and even gave us free extra rice. You also get these weird little coupons for every dollar you spend that you can redeem for strange asian-y looking knicknacks. Kinda odd, but I bet kids like it.

We will be coming back to Dragon Light again!
