My husband and I have eaten here many times to celebrate our anniversary and we haven't been disappointed yet.
Delicious! I like the way they cook some of the entrees at the table too. I usually order the Steak Diane and my hubby gets chicken.
The herb butter with the bread is very good as well.
I visited this restaurant for the first time myself, but with my husband and in-laws who have been going there for decades and had nothing but great reviews. Unfortunately, a lot of things disappointed us the night I joined them. It was a Sunday night last November and only two other tables were being used, so we expected better service. Our waitress told us she'd been waiting tables for 20 years, but this was her third night at Niko's. She was pleasant but forgot our menus for a long time and left us waiting much of the evening. She served the first taste of our costly wine in a warm wine glass, which was subsequently wasted and not replaced. The piano player in the main dining room was talented and also came to our table and impressed us with magic tricks. He was cool. The food we ordered was pretty good, although the meat was undercooked all around. After our long meal was finished, we headed to the bar for a last drink or two, but were told we would not be served. Apparently, there was a wedding party in that room and the bartenders were not allowed to serve people not in the party. Mind you, there was no sign reserving the bar or any notice posted about a private party. My Father-in-Law was very disappointed and was ready to storm out. He was promising never to return, when I went to the restroom before leaving. When i got back, we each had received sealed envelopes from the manager and were seated in the dining room and served bar drinks via the waitress. Apparently, this was allowed, but being in the bar was not. We got a free round of drinks out of the experience. We drank and chatted a bit and finally left. When my husband and I got home, we opened our envelopes. To our further disappointment, we got gift certificates for one appetizer and one dessert, both expiring in less than a week. Also, both indicated they could not be combined with any offer. In order to use these, we would have to return to Niko's twice before that Friday - yeah, right. We live in Bartlett. The least they could have offered was a year to expire those certificates. This place has potential, but they really blew it big time, all in the space of one evening. They need to remember the customer's perspective at all times.
My friend and I dine there frequently, after one visit we were hooked. The food is excellent, the waiters are very nice. It's a great restaurant. If you're ever near Nikos stop in, you won't regret it.
