What Ming's did for America's view of the Chinese buffet, Dave's Dawgs in Morris has done for American Fare sandwiches.

Last week, I had one of the best Ruebens ever. And if that wasn't tangy and hot enough on rye, it even comes on a pita if you so desire.

A new twist on an American invention, the Philly is now made with fresh cooked chicken as well. The bread is toasted face down on the grill and comes slightly crusty and toasted. The whole sandwich is so hot at the table that the chicken is still cooking so don't wait for it to cool down. Go ahead and burn your mouth on the savory chicken, cheese, onions and grilled peppers. It's worth the extra little scar tissue. Come on: cowboy up and just do it! Mmm.

Having a hard time finding the sweet but lower calorie raspberry iced tea? Dave's has it. And food tastes so much better without a Pepsi ruining the flavor of everything.

My fav? The Polish. By far the best 'dog I've ever had outside of Harvest Days food at the DBA booth.

And the fries are every bit as good as McDonalds'.

OK, that's an exaggeration. But I really wanted them to be that good 'cause everything else at Dave's Dawgs is.

A whole glass freezer full of various and sundry ice creame buckets to choose from for desert, too. Hey: aks 'em if they have strawberry cheesecake flavored ice creame yet for me, would ya'. I'm trying to get a local to carry that on a regular basis. They used to but not enough Left Coasters like me come in there to order it.

I've tried half a dozen items on the vast menu. A home run-- all. Tell 'em Stu sent you.
