I just wanted to drop a little note and tell all parents that if they are looking for care for their children, this is THE PLACE for them. The teachers and staff are kind and attentive, and have great knowledge in the field of early childhood. I had my daughter there from 8 weeks until she went to Kindergarten, and never had a bad thing to say about the school. I felt they took good care of her and made sure not only she was comfortable, but my husband and myself as well. I think all of their policies are great, including the sick policy, because it shows that this is a school that knows what they are doing and shows that they care about the children. Seriously, one day off of work is not bad at all, seeing that my child comes first, and I would hate to send her to school sick and worry about how she is doing all week (hence why companies give sick days). My husband and I are expecting baby #2, and I will, no doubt, send him/her there. I have recommended this school to several of my friends and they have been completely pleased with the school and what it has to offer-it is more than a daycare, it is a school with a curriculum and teaches children what they need to know to succeed. Thank you, Penny Lane, for starting my daughter's life off in the right direction and for fostering a loving and caring environment while I had to work.
I could not disagree more with both of these reviews.
Penny Lane has excellent teachers who are well educated and very loving care givers. My daughter has attended Penny Lane since she was an infant, she is given nothing but 100% by all of her teachers. As far as their sick policy goes- I am happy that they have a 24hr. symptom free rule. I know when my daughter was sick, I had no problem keeping her home with me for a day. I know my daughter is more important then missing a day of work. How would any parent feel if they knew that a child was allowed to stay at school, with a fever or any flu like systoms? This is a day care that cares for all the children's well being. I am thankful everyday for the quality care my daughter receives.
WORST DAYCARE EVER ! ! ! My infant was constantly sent home because she was "supposedly" sick. I had to repeatedly leave work in the middle of the day and was not allowed to take her back to school for 24 hrs. 99% of the time she was never sick and a bundle of energy at home. I think this was a ploy on their part because they ran short on meeting their teacher/child ratio for the day. They also charged me an annual registration fee even though my child was there year 'round. What a ripoff. They also raise their fees every year. When I picked up my child one day, they couldn't find both her shoes. They had a very casual attitude and said, oh well, it will turn up sooner or later and they were going to send her home with only one shoe. I had to make a huge stink about it saying that my kid came to school with two shoes and I wasn't leaving until she had both shoes. When I would pick my infant up, numerous times she would be slumped over in a swing. Not very attentive caregivers. I have since found a daycare with reasonable rates, doesn't charge me an annual registration fee, and only raises their rates when they need to (not every year). If you need a quality daycare, keep looking. THIS IS NOT IT ! ! ! I would have given it a zero star rating if I could.
