Love the pizza! But have to say Fox's on wolf (mokena) is better!
Service was great!
I went on a Friday and do so often and the food (pizza, pasta, steaks and pork chops) were excellent. I personally enjoyed the music and thought the level was just fine, we could still talk and our waitress wasn't a "low talker" so no problems. I guess it's because the entertainer knew what he was doing as opposed to the one who was there that the reviewer above experienced, or there could be other explanations. There are a hundred restaurants you can go to and be stuffy and bored with canned music coming out of the ceiling. After all these years you'd think people would know this place is known for having LIVE entertainment. My wife and I have even danced a few of times (Oh my gosh what is the mundane world coming to?). Usually there are options to be seated in the back room but I usually prefer the bar room because I like to live a little now and then. The food here is better than very good and the music and a little variety is why we go there. If I had one complaint it's that there are sometimes too many parents letting their kids run around like it's chuckie cheese or something. They got a balloon guy there, and a face painter on Fridays so I guess that explains the kids. Hey, if you can't stand kids try another night. I have friends who've been going there for over 20 years off and on (old friends) and they are some kind of fans (groupie?) for the entertainers there. Anyway to sum it up this place is more interesting than most of the boring fare in Orland area and for the variety of life we go there a bit more often than than a Harrison's (where you just sit and eat and drink and talk and watch TV.. yawn) or Connies (where you just sit and eat.. etc.). They're good but maybe I'm old fashioned but live entertainment with no cover (like free) plus TV's (though I have them at home) give Fox's the edge on variety in my opinion. The room truly has a PUB atmosphere and I like that too. Fox's Pub and Restaurant... 4 stars!
Good Food, but you cannot go there on a Friday evening and expect to enjoy a nice copnversation with family and friends during dinner. If you sit in the bar area the music is so loud it's difficult to hear what the server is saying and if you go to the back there are kid's parties. Would be nice if there was an area where you could enjoy dinner with soft music and be able to talk without shouting.
