This sushi is the best we have had since we had to leave Las Vegas for school. The fish was fresh and the rolls were amazing! We loved every bite!!
The service left a little to be desired. We ate at the sushi bar and had no interaction with the sushi chefs at all. We put our order in with the waiter and he gave it to the chefs (who were standing right in front of us). Then the chefs put our orders up on the counter in front of us, and the waiter came over and put it down in front of us. We are used to socializing, exchanging the order with and even sharing sake with the sushi chefs. We got to be really good friends with our usual sushi chef in Vegas, so the lack of interaction was a little disappointing. Having said that, we have definitely made Kyoto our new sushi home away from home!!! Hopefully the chefs will lighten up after a few visits.
Delightfully tasty! Like mentioned below, their lunch menu is very good. Lunch Boxes are nicely priced and filling. The sushi is fresh and really yummy. Kyoto is a must-eat restaurant.
We recently visit the place after our trip back from Kyoto and Tokyo. We were going to dine in, but then I got paged from work and so have to take out what we ordered. When my wife and I tried to eat at my office about 20 minutes later, we found a box of sushi rolls you get at Chinese buffet restaurant, or from grocery stores. They were so low quality that we could not finish eating. They pour soy source on the rolls, and the rice was dry. The price wasn't cheap either. We paid over $30 for 3 specialty rolls.
I admit we did have higher then usual expectation because we just came back from Japan. But now I think back, they were still the worst sushi I have ever purchased from a Japanese restaurant.
