I have 3 kids enrolled at Kensington (LaGrange and Western Springs) and my experience has been wonderful. The teachers and Directors have been great with my kids and listen to all of my needs and concerns. I would recommend Kensington to any parent!

I had heard nothing but great reviews about this place, and when my son attended he had a hard time seperating. The teachers worked with him to ease him into the transition and were always willing to go the extra mile. The staff is excellent! In the morning there were always the same smiling faces there to great him and the teachers were always at ratio. They have a great curriculum and always have fun extras for the kids! It's good to have a school like this in the neighborhood!

I had my infant son enrolled in the Kensington School, Western Springs location. I was uneasy about returning to work & leaving him at daycare, so I decided to do a couple of "trial runs." The first time I dropped him off they did not have enough teachers per infants (by law ratio is 1:4). There were 2 teachers & over 8 infants, I didn't voice my concern I thought perhaps the teachers might not have known my son was coming that day but I told them specifically when he would be back. When I returned there were 2 teachers & over 8 infants it was closer to 12, when I asked where the third teacher was they said one would be on the way. They only have 2 full time infant teachers yet they told me the infant class was full (12 infants) so I don't know what they plan to do on a daily basis but when the third teacher arrived (I waited about 5 minutes) she said she didn't know any of the infants names & stated it had been so long since she had been there she would have to be told what to do. I returned that day to pick up my son early, when I passed by the Directors office I saw one of the teachers in her office drinking a soda, I thought to myself there better be 3 teachers in that room. There were two, my son was sitting in a bouncy chair and there were 11 other infants in that room & 2 teachers. I asked where the third teacher was and they said on break. I gathered my son walked to get his bottles & found 2 infants playing in dirty diapers that had spilled out from the wastebasket that had apparently tipped over. These infants were out of the site of the teachers & when I took the dirty diapers away from them because I was so horrified they started to cry which led me to believe they had been playing with them for awhile. I had to inform the teachers what was going on I said "excuse me there are 2 children right over here playing in dirty diapers!" While I picked up the diapers one teacher calmly walked over picked up one child & said let's wash your hands, she said nothing to me. The other teacher did nothing. At that point the Director & the teacher on break walked in & one of the ones I addressed to the fact there were children playing in dirty diapers walked out for her break. At that point I looked at the Director & said you need to explain to me how your break system works because when I walked in here there were only 2 teachers & clearly more than 8 infants. She said well we take turns. I said well when I walked in there were 2 teachers more than 8 infants & I found 2 children playing in dirty diapers where the wastebasket had tipped over. She said to me "some times things happen." At that point I was so upset I took my son & left. I withdrew him from enrollment & spoke directly to the director again when I did. She offered no explanation, apology, never said it won't happen again, never said this is what we are doing to correct the problem NOTHING! just "sometimes things happen." They are in violation of DCFS regulations, Illinois daycare law etc which I am filing complaints. Infants playing in dirty diapers is unacceptable. If you are considering this school for your child I would highly recommend against it for the safety of your child.
