I went to the Maggiano's in Naperville (there was no website to post it on, so this was the closest). It did not appear to have a lot of people waiting; however, there was almost an hour long wait. Luckily, I found a seat in the lounge area that was first come first serve. The ravioli appetizer was fine, had a nice sauce. The bread was a little tough, but still soft on the inside. The decor was very nice, although the table smelled like an older rag had been used to clean it. I ordered an Italian pot roast, which was served in a large white ceramic pot. The menu only said that it would be served with carrots, onions, and seasonings, but it also had mushrooms, peas, and lima beans, which I was not expecting. All of the vegetables were on top of the meat, so it was hard to eat. Flat noodles were at the bottom, which were hard to get to as well. The meat did not taste seasoned. The waitress was excellent (and the general manager). They let me pick something for free. I played it safe and got the spaghetti with meatballs. The sauce was a little tarts, but the meatballs were good. We also had the chicken alfredo. The sauce was good (could have had a touch more garlic), and the chicken could have been flavored a little more.
I expected more out of the food since Maggiano's are everywhere, have large crowds, not cheap prices, and supposed to be authentic Italian. In the end I just found the food to be just okay/mediocre. But I can say that the waitress and manager were very polite.
The best I have ever had. I have eaten there for years and they are the very best !!!
Maggiano's is the best. I could eat there everyday. The amount of food they give you is unbelievable. The food is always fresh and the service is above outstanding. I recommend this place to everyone including out-of-towners. I suggest you go there around 4:00 p.m. on the weekends. Anything after that. you will be waiting for a seat for a looooooong time. Thank God the bar is open, LOL!!! You can have a few drinks and watch tv while you wait for a table. It's worth the wait!!!!!
