I was looking at the other reviews and think they must be getting paid to say that. I dread going to the Dominick's on Canal st. The employees could not be any more rude and less attentive. The prices are high, comparable to the Whole Foods, but it is the disregard for any customer service that bothers me the most. I have NEVER gone to the hot foods/cold cuts counter and didn't have to wait forever for the people behind the counter stop chatting with each other so they can get my food for me.
Worst store ever.
What a nice place to shop! I am here three times a week if not more and I get everything here. I even get my medication at the Pharmacy and I cannot say a bad thing about anyone that works here. If it can be done they'll get it done.
Robin is in the fish department six days a week and she knows her fish. She has been a fish butcher (for lack of a better title) for over 25 years. She's friendly and very knowkedgeable.
Mae and John are just two of the pharmacist and, of course, there are many techs there, as well. They'll do everything to make sure you understand your medication and the directions. You don't have to wait forever like you do at the competitors. Besides, you can do your shopping while they fill your prescription. It'll only take a few minutes.
The store is always stocked and its open 24 hours a day. It's clean and now they have security present. It's a good thing. People have a tendency to help themselves to the merchandise sometimes, but they have security for that now.
Jewels was my store, but now I only shop at Dominick's. I like the deli better and the brands. They have a better quality of meet and the Ranchers Reserve beef cuts are tender and juicy.
Shop at Dominick's on Canal and Roosevelt Avenue. It's a pleasant place to shop.
By the way, as you enter the store, right in the front on the right where the baskets are, there's a Starbucks. You can get your Caramel machiatta on while you shop. That's always nice, huh?
