My boyfriend and I went to Roy's last night and had a great dining experience. The wait for an outside table was 15 minutes, which gave us time to have some drinks at the bar. I had the lemon drop martini which was excellent. Everyone from the host, to the bartender to the server were extremely friendly and helpful. I asked for a recommendation on the appetizers and was pointed to the lobster dim sum which was absolutely delicious. The broth was perfect and light. I had never had anything like it and can't wait to go back and get it again. We had the Mahi Mahi and the Ahi Tuna for the main entree's which were both great. The sauce on the Mahi was also very light, not heavy or buttery and perfectly complemented the fish. We had the chocolate soufle for dessert, which our waiter brought to us on the house because of a slight delay in our appetizers arriving. We didn't mind the wait, we were enjoying our drinks and the great weather but he apologized for the delay and asked which dessert we would prefer, of course I picked something chocolate. The soufle was excellent, with a warm gouey center. It was a great night and I would definitely recommend Roy's for exceptional food and service.
I actually have never taken the time to write a review for anything, but my experience at Roy's was so outstanding that I had to take the time.
My husband and I went there to celebrate our 7th anniversary. I made the reservations through opentable.com and put a short note that the reason for our visit was to celebrate our anniversary. Upon our arrival (we wer 15 minutes early) the hostess said our table was not ready yet and could we sit in the bar for a moment. I got a little upset because the restaurant was half empty and there were plenty of open tables...well, the reason for the wait was so that they could prepare a special table for us. They put a Happy Anniversary ribbon across the table and made up personalized menus wishing us a Happy Anniversary. It was so nice! The food is amazing to say the least and the wait staff is attentive and professional. I felt like we were the only people in the restaurant. Then for dinner we ordered the absolutely yummy pineapple upside down cake which the chef wrote Happy Anniversary in chocolate on the plate and our server even took our photo and put it in a frame for us to take home. What a wonderful evening and a great memory. Thank you to the entire staff at Roy's!!!
I can't really speak on the quality of the food or the service because I unfortunately never was sat. I made reservations at Roy's for my 21st birthday at 8:00 pm on a Friday. Waited 30 minutes before deciding to leave because my table was never ready when I asked. They never offered me any information as to when it would be either. I had to ask them. Waiting 30 minutes with reservations is not right. But then parties continued to walk through the door and were sat before mine.
