| About: | This haunt, the Metro is small, hot, crowded and intimate. Add to that a lot of good shows and you have yourself something worth attending. Metro has helped launch a number of big-name careers, such as The Smashing Pumpkins. Some argue that this is the best place for shows in the city, and if you are a fan of the Indies, you might agree. The price is right, too. Metro's self-described mission is to bring a cross-platform of the best local, regional, and national emerging artists, and they have been successful thus far. Names like Liz Phair, the Smashing Pumpkins, Creed, Pete Yorn, Papa Roach, and more have all performed at the venue. |

truly a great place to go see band, great atmosphere and right by the wrigley field.
went there to see, sonata arctica, dragonforce, pennywise and many others.
also if you get lucky you might get to hang out with your favorite band at the smart bar right next door as i did
oh yeah, the cubs fans can be really annoying if you're waiting before the show
Old school club to see a band, the best. Just saw Alice in Chains there. Great intimate atmosphere, well broken in, highly recommend. It is mandatory to go downstairs to Smart Bar after the show!
I love the Metro: I went to see the Dresden Dolls in April, and it was spectacular. The venue is small, but not too small. And no matter where you are the stage is feet away. The wait was a bit of a pain in the ass, but aside from that no real problems. I have been coming to this place since before I could drive, and I love how it hasn't changed.
