Sound Bar Business Overview

Edit Info

Company Information: Crowded, snobbish and a mandatory coat check? But that doesn't deter masses from River North and beyond to dress it up for Sound Bar. The bars (nine in all) serve a heady mix of spirits and the spacious dance floor lures visitors to shake a leg. DJs Dave Seaman and Deep Dish, valet parking, stylish lounge, and a trendy atmosphere make up for the long wait outside. Note: no shorts or sneakers.

When I went I felt like I was at a junior high dance. Everyone was against the wall, hardly anybody was dancing with each other. The layout was cool, so I would say that it has potential. The reason I gave it 2 stars was because the door staff was very rude and very unaccommodating. I won't go into detail but they were real cocky and power hungry for some reason. That usually doesn't effect how good of a time you have but it did for me. I would say give it a try, it may be for you but I'm never going back.

Don't go! Don't give them your money! I pre-paid $86 bucks to go to this club on New Year's Eve. When I got there the power was out and they wouldn't let anyone in. New Year's in Chicago - it was freezing! I begged to at least get in the entrance to warm up, but they wouldn't even let me do that, even though I paid $86. Eventually the doorman told me to go home. I called later for a refund but they wouldn't give me one.

Ultimate Sound Bar review: Ok Here we go I've been in Chicago Club Scene Since 1999 so its been couple of years now.
Soundbar was supposed to open its door in I belive 2001 but they had some licencing problems and it actually took them a year to Open.

I'll start with the interior. This is a 2 levels club with 2 main dancefloors.
Upstairs u have 4 bars. One by the coat check right after you walk in , the other one is actually a separate room called round bar where special vip or membership card is required at least most of the times.. but dont worry there is really nothing special about that room so you can easily skip it.
Next 2 bars are located on the sides of a dancefloor. The dj booth is located in the middle of the dancefloor separated by a vip sections on both sides however they are elevated and you need to walk up some stairs to get there. The unpleasant bodyguards are standing by all the time. And thats pretty much about interior upstairs.
Downstairs u got pretty much the same layout with only difference that there is no elevated vip sections but two rooms separated by see thru glass walls.
Over all this place may seem to be big ,
but trust me there are bigger clubs in this city.
One more thing interior design is very modern/contemporary so if you are into sci-fi movies, you will love it.
Overall for interior ill give 7.5/10

Crowd - Young, mid 20 to mid 30's, urban , hip, good looking girls along with unbeliveable fat chicks from time to time ....... by the way if you're into club music.. and international djs dont even try to talk to people about it cuz 90% of them dont even know whos playing and they are just there cuz they want to show off.....
    Overall 5/10

    Service -
Now stop there service what service ? unless you do order a $500 bottle of champagne dont even ask for it ... i mean come 'on 2 of 3 times i would go the bartender wouldnt even give me a change so i can tip him he would just take a tip himself ...judge yourself....
    Service 2/10

Prices - Pheww are you kidding me i know downtown is expensive but 12-14 dollars for martini is a little bit too much, $4 bottle water?
    prices 0/10

Vibe - Depends on whos playing , fridays night are deffenetewlly the best nights
    8/10

The best thing about this place are actually
the powerfull sound system and amazing lights along with the friday nights when pure promotion is bringinging international djs like sasha, digweed, zabiela etc along with usa best like deep dish ,christopher lawerence...if you know what im talikng about....

    Value 5/10
