Good place for Bithdays: I chose Emilios to celebrate my 30th Birthday. My guests could not get the gist of the menu so someone took the lead and ordered just about everything. The waiters were very pleasant and understanding of the large groups demands. It was a really festive atmosphere and we received lots of attention. The only down part was it was a little warm and we asked several times to open a window, only to have the staff oblige a smaller group. In addition we had to pay extra for them to cut my birthday cake (per piece), and they wouldn't allow us to cut it ourselves. All in all, we had a good time.
Good restaurant: I have only been to two tapas restaurants- this one and Cafe Ba Ba Reeba, so I don't know how qualified I am to really judge. I thought the food was good, not exceptional (in comparison with the previous restaurant). I recommend the Queso de Cabro al Horno and the seafood there. The servers were exceptional and very attentive. I liked the overral look of the restaurant.
Good stuff!: One of the best tapas restaurants in Chicago. Expect some delicious dishes served with flare. As with any tapas style dinner, come with an open mind but you won't be disappointed in the taste. A great dish to try is DÁTILES CON TOCINO (bacon wrapped dates). The red sangria was not as good as expected since it was somewhat bitter.
