When I first came to Chicago from Memphis, the woman I live with daughter graduated from high school and we went there afterwards. Me being fresh from the South I saw nothing there that remined me of the South. The smells I got from the food was enough to let me know to order a cheeseburger and fries, and that dissapointed me too.

As much as my wife and I frequent this restaurant for its food and service, we were very disappointed when we got neither this time. We took our daughter and her family out for my daughters birthday to this restaurant and receive some of the worst service we've ever received and we were totally shocked. Even more shocked was my daughter becasue she manages four Ruby Tuesday's restaurant and her husband also is in the customer service sector of the business industry. The display of hospitality was fine until we sat down to eat. We began by placing our drink orers for all at the table (4 adults and 4-children) after that we ordered our appetizers and entrees. When the appetizers came there was one of the appetizers brought do us we didn't order and the same goes for the entrees. My wife and I like having the baby catfish (for 2) fried not filed.
My daughter ordered the seafood sampler and it was too spicey to her liking and ask if she could have it removed and place an order for something different and be credited for the last meal. This is when the dis-service really begins to happen. Some gentleman came over to our table and stated to us, and I quote, "Corporate doesn't allow us to take back food, so you will be charged for your plate." end quote. So we figure if she's going to be charged for the plate then it needs to be boxed up so we can take it home. I'll take it from her (father) if I have to since I'm paying fot it. So we asked if the food can be boxed since we have to pay for it, and they mentioned that it was already tossed. My daughter and son-in-law both thought that the food should've been brought back out to the table for a decision to be made upon it, that is a common courtesy that is suppose to be given to the customer. but this courtesy wasn't extended to us. As you can see, we weren't having a good birthday celebration for my daughter. She re-ordered and the second entree was totally wrong, and she had to wait again. By this time we're all just about finished with our food. needless to say the manager came over and she didn't make it any better. She also stated that they can't credit us for the food, so we ask that they re-make the original order and we will take that home with us if we have to pay for it. She first refused, but then 10-mins later she came back to the table and stated that the first enttree would be credited off the bill. It wasn't hard to do that the first time, since what I ended up spending in thier restaurant, the first entree would've been only 7% of the toatal amount of the bill. They were huffy over a $10 plate. With the management that's ruining (I wanted to type running but ruining seems to be more appropiate) the good feel I once had, until they are removed for this location I nor my wife or any of our friends that visit this place frequently will no longer be spending our money there. It's sad, but customer service is first and foremost when I spend my money.

The food was okay: The crawfish etouffe was just okay, as well as the catfish. The cornbread pancakes are very good. The place is small, so expect a wait. You feel kind of cramped in there.
If you have never had any food in Louisiana, then this place is not the place for you to go to. Not totally authentic seasonings and taste, but it gets the job done if you're hungry. I would have liked the food to be more flavorful.
