Well worth the wait! We arrived at 11:30am and waited about 40 minutes to be seated, but were pleasantly surprised. Pancakes were fluffy, warm and ready to "sop" up some maple syrup. The place could use a little more elbow room, but that's common amongst most small restaurants on the north side. I would definitely go again.
Traveled from NJ just to go there for breakfast!: We stumbled upon Toast during one of our trips to Chicago. Now, no matter where we stay in the city, we always make sure we get there. You have to be patient, especially if you go on the weekend but in my opinion, it is SO worth it. I've been there about 6 times now including our last trip to Chicago which was specifically to go there for the stuffed French toast (for me). On second thought - don't go there! I don't want to share it!!
No, thanks: Don't go there if you have kids. They are nothing but rude.

that's it! you can't write a review? kids are selfish and annoying little snots. keep them away from restaurants!
Well, I wouldn't go as far as to say that kids are selfish and annoying. Their just.... KIDS! I love kids just as anyone else. It's the parents to blame for taking young ones to wait around in a confined space unrestrained to bother other costomers. As far as the staff at Toast being rude.... asking you to keep your cumbersome stroller outside so it's not in the way is not an obscene request- you don't see adults wheeling their bikes in to have near their table. A good rule of thumb- If there is not a kids' menu or crayons, you're kids are probably not welcomed. Otherwise, try going at nonpeak hours.
