I agree that established bands appear here but the problem with the Double Door is it is accoustically horrific. It's only okay if you don't want to hear lyrics or instrumental solos. SEEING bands there is fun. HEARING them...not so much. The sound at the Park West is hard to beat. Not sure if it is the system or the staff but I always look forward to hearing music at this place.
This ain't Double Door: Undiscovered talent need not apply. You'd better be somebody somewhere to play the Park West. Indigo Girls? Welcome. Terrence Trent D'arby? C'mon in. What's your band -- Sleepytime Gorilla Museum? -- You're at the wrong place. Double Door's THAT way...Nestled in tony Lincoln Park, this upscale joint is the place for young professionals to see and be seen. Strike a pose.
