| About: | Stanley's is really two establishments in one. When you first walk in, there is a large bar/dance area that can be described as country barn chic. Beyond the bar is a restaurant that serves comfort food like mashed potatoes and meat loaf. The dining room was fashioned by a movie set designer to look like a kitchen from a 1950s television sitcom. You will not find TV's Beaver, but you will find plenty of plastic toys to play with as you wait for your food. |

User Rating: 5 out of 5 starsBest comfort food in Chicago!: I discovered Stanley's on a cold, dreary winter night when I was desperately seeking some down-home comfort food. I found it at Stanley's - fried chicken, mac-n-cheese, buttered corn, and apple pie! You are guaranteed to roll out of Stanley's with a mean food coma but it is completely worth it. Go there during the weekends for an all-you-can-eat brunch or on Monday evenings for their dinner buffet and get a great deal too!
User Rating: 5 out of 5 starsI go every time I am in Chicago!: The food is excellent -- the homemade macaroni & cheese and belgian waffle boats are fantastic. It's the best brunch I have ever been to -- anywhere. And, the waitstaff are quick to bring you refills on drinks, but aren't in your face the whole time.
