More a dream than folly!: The food is excellent and the staff are helpful and pleasant. The wine list is extensive for a relatively small restaurant. We (all six of us) compared this favorably to Ambria both in quality and price.
Outstanding Food and Service: The food and service at this restaurant are great. The previous reviewer obviously didn't take the time to sit down and enjoy the experience of dining in this great place. This is not a fast food carry out restaurant. There are white tablecloths, a wine list, a friendly knowlegeable staff and some of the best prepared food in Chicago. I had lunch here about a month ago and had the Seafood Crepes; the best ever. A great neighborhood place and well worth the trip from anywhere in the city or suburbs.
Unaccommodating and Snooty: I was overjoyed to find a unique new spot close to University of Chicago, from which I had hoped to place large-scale catering orders for clients. Unfortunately, the owner, Mary, decided that she didn't want to bother with my small order. She also decided she would no longer accept take-out orders for the rest of the summer and called me at the final hour of planning to let me know. Seems Mary didn't realize that this small order I attempted to place was a trial that could have turned into big monthly business for the small restaurant. Save the uppidy attitude next time, Mary. You never know what opportunity you may be passing on. -AW
