| About: | It ain't fancy, but DePaul students throng here. If you don't dig on the surroundings, you can order your Greek chicken (which is very gooda half a chicken in a Lemon Wine Sauce for very less), burger, fries, gyro plate or whatever else and bring it to Glascott's bar, which is accessible through a door connecting the separate establishments. The Athenian Room lacks the colorful flair of most Greektown restaurants, but is superior in terms of a casual, family environment. |

Best of the best: Best bang for your buck in the city and the best every day restaurant in Lincoln Park. The gyros is the best in the city. The burger is one of the top ten in the city and the chicken is one of the better chicken dishs to be found, all of those include the greek fries, also in the citys top 10 fries. 5 outta 5 baby!
A hidden treasure in the City!: I have been going here for the pass 27 years now. This place is one of Chicago's hidden treasures. The Athenian chicken is by far the BEST that Chicago has to offer. You get a half chicken that is prepared on the rotisserie with their secret recipe of wine and Greek herbs baked in. Included in your order are their steak fries, Greek salad and bread.
Another dish that is well known is their Athenian steak. The portion is so big that they have to fold both of the sides of the steak in order to fit it onto the plate. For dessert you have to try their baklava simply delicious. All their entree are under $10.00
Their prices havent change since I first started going their very reasonable.
Love this Place: I work in the area by Athenian Room and do carryout once a week. Their salads are great. If you're watching your weight the Greek Salad is a good option. The taramousalata is the best and we prefer over any in Greek Town. As previously mentioned, there isn't much ambiance, but the food is great.
