| About: | This longtime neighborhood tavern and retreat for local working class folk has become a focal point of the Chicago bar/pub scene, and was recently listed in Rolling Stone magazine as Best Of Chicago, and for good reason. This is one of the few bars in town that does not stick to one genre of music. Rather, it presents the best of jazz, rock, folk... basically anything as long as it's good. There's a certain rustic charm about the place, with a mounted deer head over the register, and a stuffed marlin in the adjacent Chinook Lounge. There are live acts every day of the week. |

User Rating: 5 out of 5 starsHideout Rocks!!!: The music rocks and the liquor served does what it's suposed to do. Everyone in Chicago and the outlying suburbs should go to their block party held in September.

It really is a hideout.: A great place to go when you don't want the regular bar scene. It's out of the way and hidden, so it's hard for the average bar hopper to find.
