| About: | Mac and cheese, peanut butter and jelly, pizza and beer: some things just go better together. Award-winning beers (brewed by a champion brew-master) feature at this open and friendly brewery and pizzeria. Pizzas on offer at Piece include your choice of toppings on either a red (red sauce and mozzarella), white (traditional New Haven-style pizza with olive oil, garlic, and mozzarella), or plain (red sauce, garlic, Parmesan cheese, and olive oil) pie. For those who have arrived at a pizza place with no desire for pizza (what?), there are also several sandwiches and salads to choose from. If somehow you end your meal not completed stuffed with pizza and beer, shell out the cash for some dessertthe chocolate pizza (with house-made chocolate hazelnut sauce and mascarpone cheese) is a culinary concoction not to be missed. Note: Kitchen closes several hours before restaurant. - Susan Berg |

A definate treat! I was totally impressed with the place, having finally going there and exceeding my expectations. I really enjoyed their pizza, the sauce and appetizers. They mostly serve pizza and have various drink specials during the week. Parking was hard to find but the atmosphere was great. I will definately go there again and tell others to go as well. Relatively inexpensive too and worth the wait. One of the members of Cheap Trick has a hand in this establishment.
Will go every time I'm in Chi.: My trip to Piece was the highlight of a business trip I made to Chicago two weeks ago. The place was recommended by a friend of mine who has been there many times. I was with a colleague from my company, so I wanted to make a good impression. We arrived on the later side, around 9:30 pm, and the place was still very busy. I'm not a beer drinker, but my colleague is, and he sampled several of the in-house brews and was very impressed. We ordered a large pizza with pepperoni, mushrooms, and cheese (which must be requested on East Coast-style pizza). After watching others eating and enjoying their food, our anticipation was heightened and we were not disappointed. Though we were very hungry, we couldn't finish the huge, well-adorned pie. Even after we were stuffed, we were still picking at the remaining slices because it was all so good. When the server asked us if we wanted to take the rest home, I lamented that it wouldn't survive an unrefrigerated trip to New Jersey. I've told many people about Piece and will absolutely be back there the next time I have to go to Chicago.
Great Pizza..terrible service: I have been going to Piece since I 1st moved to Chicago last spring. The service has been good until recently. It was so bad that I had to complain to the manager, truly ruined my dining experience. I will still patronize Piece, because, even though the wait staff was terrible the manager did attempt to smooth things over, plus the fact that they have the best pizza and beer in the city.
