| About: | Schubas Tavern is housed in one of the former Schlitz bars, but the Schlitz is gone. Instead, you will find a good collection of beer and a wonderfully eclectic variety of live music on a stage in an adjoining room. You can drink at the bar for no extra charge, but to hear the music, you have to pay a cover fee. Both parts of the tavern, performance and bar areas, tend to host a mix of locals from the Lakeview neighborhood and others from throughout the city who have come to check out this week's jazz, rock or folk act. If you get hungry, you can sneak away to the Harmony Grill, which is owned by the same person and attached to the bar. |

User Rating: 1 out of 5 starsWorst place ever!!: Schubas is an overrated venue to go to. First of all getting ahold of tickets to see a show is a ridiculous experience itself. The staff is very rude!! They are totally disorganized when it comes to getting an event going. If you want to avoid a headache and a bad night don't go there.
User Rating: 4 out of 5 starsBeer & Music!: A great local venue for small and midsize music acts to play in Chicago. I just saw my first show there and it is a small back room, but it has great character. I plan to go back and see more shows. The food looked great and the beer was cold, so that always helps too!
User Rating: 5 out of 5 starsGreat place to eat & drink!: Schuba's ambiance is wonderful. They have live bands every night of the week in a seperate bar and stage area in the back of the front bar. It is a great place to hide from the afternoon sun and humidity with a cold drink. Their brunch menu is great too!
