Company Information: This French spot has weathered the storm of the Lincoln Park neighborhood, from its years of decline all the way through to its shining present. Inside, little has changed since it opened in 1971. Cozy and unpretentious, it is well known as one of the best French deals in town. Delicious crepes highlight the menu, or try the fixed price dinner, which includes a salad, a dinner crepe and a dessert crepe. Make sure to order a bottle of French wine from the carefully selected list and wash it all down with a cup of hair-on-your-chest coffee.

I greatly enjoyed this quaint bistro! Upon entering, I wasn't quite sure why the Maitre'd was leading us down a long narrow corridor; however, once we hit the outside patio, I saw why. The outdoor seating is in the back yard...yes I said back yard. The patio decor is eccentric (again, think back yard decor), but very cozy for conversation. (Special note: For those who do not enjoy sitting close to your neighbors, you may want to ask if you can be seated indoors.)
The food here is wonderful...the french onion soup is well worth the hype! And the crepes....oh la la la! There is a great variety of crepes. You also have the option of creating your own. I will say, I did not have a savory crepe. When I think "crepe", savory does not come to mind. But they do have them for the adventerous.
This is a great place to grab a light nosh before you hit the town or if you have family/friends in to expereince something different.
I must say this was a truly, remarkable restaurant. If you have a sweet tooth or craving for some savory crepes there is a wide selection to choose from. The drink menu has a list of many wines that will please your taste. It was a wonderful date for Valentine’s Day sitting at a window seat. It gives off a romantic setting with its dim lights and its décor. I highly recommend dining at La Creperie. Bon Appetite!
Cheap French food in Chicago?? It seems almost impossible, but that's what La Creperie has to offer, and almost all of it in mouth watering crepes. I have eaten there three times and it have never been disappointed. Among the dishes I have tasted (all packed into crepes, of course) are the Coq au Vin, Beef Bourgnion, and this caramel crepe with a flan like custard on top. The best part of all is that all of the entrees are under $12! My only quibbles are that the seating is not the most comfortable and it can be rather cramped at times. The service has always been consistently good. Overall, this is a fun restaurant and a great value. Highly recommended.
