The food is the best on the Southside. The quality and the price is right for everyone. Try the egg rolls, wlnut shrimp, egg foo uoung-shrimp, crab rogoon and the chicken wings. The mongolian beef is exceptional and the service was great. I have been a long time customer and have never been disappointed with the place.
OMG, Can a place get any worse? I went to "CHI TUNG" again (this is my third try) and again, it was the absolute WORSE!!!!!!! The food, was as tasteless as a rice cake. No, now I need to apologize to the makers of rice cakes cause, their stuff taste better. The service was cold, rude, and pushy. So, you ask why is always packed? The only reason I can come up with is, South Siders don't know "GOOD" Chinese food if it slapped them in the face. If any of them went to China Town, "CHI TUNG" would be closed inside of a month. If in China Town try Won Cow's and, if still stuck on South Side try SESEAME INN just down 95th street. Much better food.
My family has been going to Chi Tung since they had their old storefront buliding. Back then their food was much better than it is now. As previously stated by other customers who have been going to Chi-Tung before they moved to the new location, the food has really lost it's magic. The food doesn't have the robust flavoring like it used to and the sushi has become second class. I have had to send it back numerous times because the rolls fall apart when picked up with chop sticks and they actually charge a dollar for a little bit of extra mayo! They have returned the sushi and made a new batch with no questions asked so they still are an excellent restaurant when it comes to service and amount of food served for the money. For a veteran of Chit Tung though, it really has become a "rember how good Chi Tung was before they moved" situation. I have yet to try the Hibachi grill but I will be looking else where for sushi and chinese. My rating is based on the old Chi Tung vs. the current ChiTung.
