I have lived in the area for a few years and have always heard great things about this place but I didn't get a good first impression at all. We walked in for lunch one day to discover every single empty table was dirty. With no where to sit we stood around for a while waiting for someone to show up. Bar didn't even have a bartended! Other people were at tables with drinks and food staring at us, so we left and went across the street to FIBS and had an awesome lunch!
Worst restaurant experience ever. The food may have been good, but we never got it - they actually gave our food to another table! What a waste of time.
The food is fabulous and we make the Rockton Inn our special occasion restaurant. We seem to have several of those a year. But we recently went to celebrate my 61st birthday and I thought we were at McDonald's!!! Directly below us was a screaming baby and next to us was a kid climbing on the railing.......Couldn't they have an "adult only" area?? I know the prices are low compared to Chicago, but for the price we paid for two appetizers, two entrees, several drinks and a dessert, I don't want to feel like I'm in the middle of Chucky Cheese!!!!!
