Gulotta's Pizza

Once upon a time when Gulotta's first opened I would go with my parents to pick up pizza from this place. I remember standing on a chair and looking in the little widow and watching them make the pizza's. I also remember that was the best tasting pizza around. The local newspaper (Register Star) held a contest of pizza joints in town. In a town of 100,000 people, Gulotta's won of course.

Later we moved out of state, but 20+ years later I was back in Rockford for a wedding. I stopped by Gulotta's and ordered a pizza. Let me tell ya, it STILL tastes the same.

So, if you're in Rockford, put down those nation wide chain pizza's and get one from Gulotta's. Once you taste their pizza, you'll never go back to the other stuff.

Great pizza - one of my favorite places to order from and super friendly service. The pizza isn't undercooked as many pizza places seem to be. The flavor is great. Price seems to be pretty much in-line with similar pizza places around town. They only take cash (no checks or credit cards), so keep that in mind when you go as there isn't an atm real close.

Nick and his Momma are the only employees and boy do they know how to make pizza and lasagna. If you want the best, order the special pizza and have him cook it "well done". This way the cheese does more than just melts, it actually browns just a little.
