I was just going to comment on the awesome food at Angelos, but after reading a couple comments about the waitress that has been there a long time, I'm pretty sure I know who they're referring to and she's not like that at all. She's probably the best waitress they have there. And that's saying a lot because we go in there all the time and pretty much all the waitresses there are excellent.
Anyway, the food is delicious there. Their pasta sauce is one of a kind and they have the best pizza in town. They also have a good buffet. If you're ever visiting our town, or if you're a local who has never tried Angelos, you have to pay them a visit.
Food was great. The store itself nice.
Our waitress was lousy though. Ok, there were 14 of us in our group and she never did bring our drinks. We waited and waited but finally a different waitress, a very young girl, came by and I asked her about it and I figured she'd say, "I'll go get your waitress." But she actually took down our drink order and went and got them all herself, then apologized for the inconvenience.
After we got our food our waitress disappeared again. We all wanted refills and again we waited and waited until a different waitress came by, this time it was a blonde girl. She immediately got our drinks and she too apologized for the other waitress.
Then when she finally brought the check, there was no check. She said something about the register was broken and something about no receipt, but she told us how much it was. We got our money together and paid it, and even tipped her nicely even though the 2 younger gals did half of her work for her.
BUT, then I noticed one of the other waitresses bring a table near us a receipt. We kind of wanted a receipt since we were all paying seperately so I asked that waitress "Is the register working now." She said it was never broke. I told her what our waitress had said about the broken register and that she couldnt give us a receipt and the younger gal said, "That doesnt make sense, I saw her do it and I saw the receipt." Just then our waitress came around the corner and she walked by us and said "Have a nice day now." Then the younger waitress asked her if she had our receipt. She looked like a deer in headlights and she said, "Oh, umm yeah, right here." So we're all getting up and getting ready to go and I'm looking at the receipt and guess what? The total on the receipt (which also is the amount that SHE owes the register) "just happened" to be EXACTLY $20 LESS than what she charged us. So i flagged her down again and I said "Excuse me I think you overcharged us." and right away, she pulled a $20 dollar bill from her apron and said, "Oh yeah here you go."
I hadn't even told her how much we were overcharged yet and she just happened to know it was exactly $20 and she just happened to hand me a 20 right there. I'm sorry but it doesn't take a genius to realize she was trying to pocket $20 by overcharging us and paying the register the real amount of the order.
I hope the owners read this and I would be more than happy to speak with them by email or phone to help figure out who the waitress was that was trying to rip us off.
I'm still giving this place a good rating though. The 2 younger waitresses more than made up for the lazy, slow one that tried to rip us off.
Thanks,
Brandy
Best Pizza and sandwiches anywhere. Supreme one of a kind sauce and bread. I moved to Texas 4 years ago and let me tell you there is no place that can even come close here in the Houston Area. Dine-in atmosphere is relaxing and the Stain Glass murals are Beautiful. Easy on the wallet too. I only wish Angelo's Pizzeria would expand here in the Kingwood/Humble Texas Area.
