User Rating: 5 out of 5 starsFantastic Chinese Food: Unlike many other Chinese restaurants, the food at Great Wall was not very greasy, and the noodles in the chow mein and the potsticker shell had a "these were just made today" taste to them. I would also recommend the Palace Chicken. Not only is this the best tasting Chinese food in Rockford, I would place it above any of the restaurants I've dined at in Chicago.
Each of the dinner items ranged from 7 to 12 dollars, and the serving size was generous. Our waiter was attentive and polite, there when we needed him without hovering over us constantly.
User Rating: 5 out of 5 starsThe Best Chinese Resteraunt in Illinois: I love this place. The food is fantastic. It has been rated the best of Illinois serveral times and it really is. I moved away a couple of years ago and still make special visits to eat here.
The food is really good and fresh. The Princess Squid and Schewan Shrimp are top notched. They also have really good Moo Shu Pork and Moo goo gui pan.
They have a fabulous Sunday Brunch Buffet that contains many of their featured items.
The service is really exceptional. The servers are always kind, helpful, prompt and have eaten all of the dishes and can make good recommendations. The owner, a very nice woman, also treats everyone like a VIP and makes sure that your visit is a pleasure.
I have eaten here over 1000 times and have never been disappointed. I used to work right near here and ate there for lunch at least two or three times a week.
This place is better than Genghis Khan or the Imperial Palace.
