I grew up on Franks pizza, but my main love is their roast beef sandwiches, I live in Missouri now, and I get cravings for them.

I use to work for Frank's Pizza. The scenery is out of the 70's. Small tile, and tobacco stained ceiling (from when there use to be smoking), In general, the feel of the place is as if a cafeteria for the employee's making the food, not a new place feeling. The pizza is cooked in an old turing oven. Let's just say that if the electricity goes out, the employees are able to hand crank it. The pizza crust is soggy because they make thin pizza's with a lot of toppings. I do not like the original sausage pizza. I had to bake, grind it, so yeah, I'm not big on it. The sausage is homemade with spices as well as the excellent spaghetti sauce. Oh that sauce is amazing. So amazing, the leftover meatballs from the day get mashed and put into the meat sauce. That is why it has so much flavor. If you want a salad, save your money. It is a wedge of lettuce (diced) with dressing. The italian dressing is homemade, but it gives me a heartburn. I mix it with ranch dressing to taste better. Want cheese, ham etc. It will cost extra. Everyone raves about the chicken, never had it, I always had the pizza. With the right toppings, you forget the crust is soggy. Now, it is a little soggy because it is thin with all the cheese and sauce on it. This is more of a jeans and tee-shirt place. Now the price, yes it is really high. I could get a large one topping pizza at Dominos for 15.00 for one at Franks for 26.00. A lot of local people grew up on Frank's, so of course they love it. I am not from here and have had better pizza, however, it is worth the try. Oh and yes, cash only for obvious reasons. They get a grade A+ for the back kitchen though. They have the kid's cleaning it nightly really good. Even bleaching the floor ever so clean. The front kitchen you can see for yourself. It is open to look in through the openings at what's going on. Remember, this is a business for profit, and a family business at that. To each it's own. I may not like all the menu items or agree with the price, but there are some gems at this place for a price.

I will never forget the memories I have of Franks! Parking in the back, I thought it was so cool when I was young walking in the back door! Like we were some kind of VIP or something. And who can forget Nesbitts Cream Soda and Orange Soda. ONLY Franks would serve that kind! And dont even get me started on green pepper pizza! It is so addicting! Franks Pizza by FAR is the best pizza within a 200 mile radius of the Quad Cities! And I only say that because I havent had pizza from outside tht circle but I bet it would beat that too!
Although I must say that all of these kudos are for the SILVIS restaurant! I lived in Bettendorf and ate at the Bettendorf Franks once and it almost ruined my Franks memories! NOT GOOD!
