ENJOY IT I DID AND WILL CONTINUE TOO!!!!!!!!
Played this course today. $40 midweek!!! Only takes cash, emphasis on takes! Unlike any course I have ever played, and I have played some real cow pastures. Well maintained but like playing in a pecan grove. Lots of blind/mystery shots with trees blocking the middle of the fairway and lots of fairway that never comes into play. Advice to owners, save the planet, don't mow where it is not in play. Some 5 yard wide targets to get a 2nd shot to the green. Absolutely beautiful piece of country property, bad design/layout for a golf course. They claim it is a "links" course. Don't believe it. It is a cow pasture. #9 tee box was without grass and no level place to tee within 2 club lengths. #10 gives you no shot to the fairway and no shot to the green if you do hit the fairway. Will never play here again, even for $5, and don't recommend this course to anyone. Life is too short to play golf on courses like this. Great campsite though. Scratch that, excellent camp site.
On my "Every Year" list of courses to play!: This won't appeal to "Golf-Snobs" as it is rural and lacking in fine ammenities. However, this course offers great scenery, challenging play, and one of the best values I've experienced. The lack of heavy traffic makes it easy to get a tee-time and helps keep the atmosphere light. I will make it a habit to play this course at least once (if not more) every year. I'm glad that my cousin turned me on to this one.

the sign out front reads "a club in the country" not a country club! sounds like just another who didnt shoot as well as usual because he wasnt used to the ups and downs. for future info, if you played the course even more than once there is a perfect shot off the #9 tee and as long as you aim to the right of the tree in the #10 fairway (which you can see clearly from the tee box) you have a great shot to the green! some people need to stick to the yuppy courses up north i suppose.
I'm a golf professional, and I thoroughly enjoy every round that I've played here. If you can't enjoy it, you shouldn't be playing golf. It's about getting away from the city, and spending time in a beautiful place with friends. One of the tee boxes is really shaded, so there isn't much grass, but you're using a tee, so who cares! It's a little gem, and everyone should play it a couple times and judge for themselves.
