The bar is well stocked and the lighting gives the place a romantic ambiance but the chef needs to go back to school. Actually, I doubt they have a chef. Although there is an extensive Tex-Mex selection, do not order anything from it as the "salsa" they serve is little more than catsup and the entrees are an odd blend of ingredients that do not go well together. The Lemon Sole consisted of breaded and fried fish covered in cherry tomatoes and over-cooked Kale. The flavors fought with each other creating a mess on the plate and palate. The spinach on my daughter's pasta was over-cooked and disgusting. The head-cook may be good at cooking the tired fare available at any restaurant, but has no idea of how to make interesting dishes. Go there for the fried chicken and boring potatoes, and by all means, enjoy the bar, but if you want fresh and interesting, go to the Nodding Onion.
Went for a drink and dessert, the martini was good, the brownie togo that we ordered for $2.50 turned out to be 5.50 when we got our bill, if you actually ate it in the restaurant, what a concept, togo a.k.a "to go" meant we had to take it out and nowhere else on the menu did it have a plain brownie listed, who knew it would be 5.50 to eat it on a plate IN the restaurant. DECEPTIVE! Shame on the waitress for not explaining it and the manager would not reduce the charge. Wont go back to try it again.
Nice ambience, good place to take a date. The food is very good, a little bit pricey, but justified for the type of restaurant. Their spicy Thai peanut chicken is excellent, but the coating seems much thinner these days. Also, it is very sad that they got rid of the " 'Shrooms " (cream cheese stuffed mushrooms), and their Bloody Marys are perhaps a little too spicy. Still a great restaurant with consistently good food. B
