Wonderful restaurant, great atmosphere, personable owner. The menu is small, but the food is top quality and well prepared. An unexpectedly upscale dining experience in a small town.
This is the only oasis is a desert of greasy, franchises and soup kitchens. It is the most expensive eatery in town, because it serves the highest quality of items. If you care to actually taste quality, this quaint place can compete with any that I have tried regionally, nationally or internationally of similar size. A wonderful selection of both wines and beers, too. This small town deserves to have one fine restaurant and the Palm Cafe fits the bill.
Diamond in the rough: My wife and I stumbled on The Palms Cafe while driving around Canton, looking for a restaurant that was open. We endedup with a short wait (the place was full) and had a very pleasant meal. Although the menu is small the food is excellent and well prepared, and it has a friendly atmosphere. You can plan on spending a minimum of $20 - 25 dollars per person ( a little more if you try the various wines), but you can relax throughout the meal and not feel rushed. The Chef brings big city cooking to the country. It truly is a diamond in the rough.
