Imo's is my favorite Pizza when I visit St. Louis. Ever since Cusinellis went to Korean's I have to choose between White Castle Belly Bombers or eating a well greased box of Imo's Pizza at 03:00 AM. Of course I always give my limo driver or my designated driver written instructions on where to take me after the clubs and bars close so I can begin the sobering up process with a tried and true hangover remedy. Imo's pizza is so darned good the flavor permeates the box and I find the box is as good if not better than the pizza itself. It is at least as greasy and gobs of grease is the secret to begin to cure a hangover...
WARNING - FOOD POISONING.... I was a regular customer for years (by that I mean at least weekly) until one night I ordered my favorite hot Italian Beef sandwich. It arrived much quicker than usual and when I opened it, the bread was hard as was the edges of the beef but I didn't want to complain so I just figured, "hey, all restaurants have a fluke sometimes" and ate it. Within 2 hours I was doubled over in pain, and projectile vomitting and diarrehea for the next 8+ hours. I called a nurse in the family who informed me that it was FOOD POISONING! I then called the restaraunt to inform them of the incident (no requests of any type on my part from them) and was rudely and nonchalantly BLOWN OFF and told that because they had no other reports that night, I must have been mistaken and since I didn't go into the doctor they couldn't accept that it was FOOD POISONING! So if you don't want a case of FOOD POISON and reckless regard for your health, my advice is don't eat this restaurant's food! It was the last time not only me but anyone else from my family has eaten their food since!!!!!
Who wants to pay for a frozen shell pizza? It's cheaper and better to buy the ingredients at the store and make it from scratch. The only thing that gives Imo's pizza any taste at all is the parmesean/oregano mixture that they dust the pie with.
Don't even think about ordering from the pasta side of the menu either. EVERYTHING comes frozen. It's pathetic. If you are ever in St. Louis search for a homestyle pizzaria and pass on Imo's. You can't get good pizza from a strip mall.
