User Rating: 4 out of 5 starsHands down the best place to get breakfast in a 30-mile radius of Mattoon-Charleston. To everyone complaining about the prices: if you use high-quality ingredients, your food is gonna cost more. If you want cheap crap, go to McDonalds. You won't find any cheap crap here. Everything I have had on the menu, from croissants to bagels to wraps to baked goods, has been really good. With a dearth of breakfast spots, I regularly come over from Charleston just to eat here. Well worth the trip.

Really I would give this a 2 1/2. Everytime I go I order the same thing and the price is different and the drink is different. I hate that! I'd rather go to Starbucks. Least I know what I'm getting.

Whenever I visit Mattoon, which is few times a year, I always stop in Common Grounds. I think they have a great little place and would love to be able to duplicate it here in Peoria! Pricey? Compares to Starbucks but a lot nicer place. Please come to Peoria, my daughter is an experienced barista and would love to work for you!
