User Rating: 5 out of 5 starsI have hunted all over for some genuine old fashioned Liver Sausage and I found it at Schubert's. This is excellent and makes a fine snack. I am placing an order for more to take with me to Texas.

They don't double wrap their meat in plastic then paper like other processors. I Had a whole bunch of brats get freezer burned because they are trying to save on wrapping. They also limit the choices on what you can have done with your sausage. You can't have part bulk & part brats. It's all one or the other.

All of the products that get wrapped in paper are also placed on a piece of cellophane or wax paper. You may also request any product to get freezer wrapped. This process involves a thicker piece of freezer proof paper and a different wrapping style. All of the bratwurst flavors are offered in one pound vacuumed plastic packages that are also freezer proof. They take custom orders every day and if there is something you would like, you can give them a call and let them know. While they do not carry bulk (out of the casing) brats in the meat case, because it is a rare that most customers do not want bulk bratwurst, I know they would be more than happy to fill an order for any such request. Orders are welcome and best to call a couple of days ahead so you know it will be fresh the day you pick it up!
