food is great and everything is fresh, and of corse the pie is to die for.
A group of us recently visited the Pie Pantry and were extremely disappointed. Arriving after the lunch rush, we thought we could expect quick service; however, our server took forever to serve us. One person in our party was given a menu with specials that were no longer available. All of us order simple sandwiches or soups. It took forever to get our food. One person got a grilled cheese sandwich which had one little piece of processed cheese on it! It certainly was not what was expected from a place advertising homemade dishes. Another person had a long hair cooked into the top of her burger! Needless to say, none of us could finish our lunch after the hair was found. We had planned to order pie, but that was out of the question.
We have eaten at The Pie Pantry before, but each time, it has gone downhill. Between the burger with hair, the lack of cheese, and the poor waitress we experienced, I doubt we will ever go back!
The pie pantry in belleville, il has very welcoming nice employees. the serivce could do better because when i walked in a was ignored for a few minutes but the food was excellent. unfortunatly the head manager of the pie pantry was EXTREMELY rude. He talked down to a complaining customer and i know of a young lady that worked there and herefused to pay her for her hours worked, and cussed at her. He also was very disrespectful so her in person and when he realized he could be in major trouble for not paying her, he with held important information from her and cut money from her check for the uniform she could've turned in instead of telling her about it. He should not manage anything and should learn he can not treat people any way he feels. that is just wrong. and i hope one day he gets in huge trouble for the way he treats people.

Obviously this review must come from a disgruntled employee who was probably mediocre at best. I also worked at the Pie Pantry, and was always treated with respect. If any money was not given to this "young lady" I am sure it was being kept because she owed it to the restaurant. I also know that the manager mentioned in your post would never have the kind of conversation you present on the floor in front of customers. Come on...people in business don't act like you say he does. Take it from me, if you truly believe this story you heard from this "young lady" you need to check your source.
