Poor dealership with bad finance mgrs and poor ethics/values.
Purchased a vehicle and a month later contacted saying I needed to sign some papers. Without my authorization, the dealership continued to search for the best "deal" for me and of course the whole time my credit report was being accessed without my authorization. this was after i had already signed a deal on the vehicle and signed the bank papers.
needless to say, I drove the vehicle back and dropped the keys in their hands.
I had not one, but 2 awful experiences with this dealership. Don't buy anything from Jackson, and never take your vehicle here for service.
Most recently I took my 09 Fusion in for an oil change. When I purchased the car from Jackson they attempted to overcharge me around $50 (I will explain later) so they ended up giving me a free oil change coupon to compensate. Without the coupon I doubt I ever would have gone back, but everyone deserves a second chance anyway. Upon arriving for the oil change the service technician assumed I wanted standard oil (which provides a 3000 oil change interval). I told him I wanted the factory recommended oil, which provides a 7500 mile change interval (straight out of my owners manual). He told me that no Ford vehicles had a 7500 service interval. I told him he had better double check because my ownerâs manual clearly stated 7500 miles and so does my 08 Explorer manual. He insisted that I should be doing 3000 mile changes. I asked him what made him more qualified than the engineers at Ford to recommend a different interval than the factory? He had no answer other than this is what the dealership recommended.
So we get past Jackson trying to sell me more oil changes than I need and he agrees to do the oil change and rotate my tires. When I arrive to pick up my car they inform me I owe $15 for synthetic oil because they only provide the $26 oil change for free with I.O.U.s from the sales department. Since the synthetic blend needed costs more, I owe the difference. And they forgot to rotate my tires, but they will do that for another $10 if I will wait another 15 minutes. I decide I am better off rotating my own tires, paying my $15 and never returning to Jackson again.
When I bought my 2009 Fusion from Jackson in the first place, they quoted me a different price every time I called or came into the dealership. Even when I was ready to pay for the car the amount was different again. Can these guys do consistent math, or does it change every time? And why does it go up every time? They located the car I wanted at another dealership and after we went through the numbers 5 times I thought we were done. When I arrive to pay there is a sudden $200 increase. âOh, that is the surcharge to get the vehicle from the other dealer,â they say. I can pick up my own car 100 miles away rather than pay that! They explain their cost for the pickup and it appears to be around $150. Since I am way too nice I agree all they owe me is $50 and settle for an oil change I.O.U. In the end all that proves to be worth is $26.
Oh, and I forgot to mention that the day after I bought car I returned to ask my salesman why my Fusion did not come with the latest SYNC software version that provides 911 assist and the vehicle health report that he told me all about. I found that he no longer worked for the dealership and proceeded to argue about getting the new software installed which I was sold. Bottom line: DONâT USE THIS DEALER.
