User Rating: 5 out of 5 starsLet's make this clear, there is no better pizza south of Chicago than DiCarlo's in Virden, Illinois. I don't live anywhere near there, but we make the 1 and a half hour trip at least 3-4 times a year just to eat the pizza. I've sampled great local pizza all over central Illinois, and there are a lot of great ones, (Leo's in Petersburg, Fillipos in Monticello, Sorrentos in Lincoln to name a few), but hands down, DiCarlos tops them all. Their thin crust pizza is incredible, the crust itself has a hint of buttery flavor and the sauce is tangy, sweet, and wonderful. They pile the ingredients on and all for a very very fair price. I'd take some time to rave about this pizza some more, but there isn't enough room or time. Just try it, you'll be hooked like I was.
