Lime Street was pretty good. The seating is comfortable and the noise level conversation friendly. My companions enjoyed their Reuben and patty melt. The pork Diane derived most of its taste from the wine and mushroom sauce, which overwhelmed any hint of pork flavor. The sauce had a very standard taste to it. The baked potato was well prepared, and the dinner salad was tasty. Coffee is a notch above average. The down-to-earth server was friendly and helpful.
We enjoy Lime Street very much and try to get there every couple of months. Occasionally to simply eat but more often to also enjoy the live music in their casual room. Some great local bands with no cover and the cost of the drinks is reasonable.
In their more formal room, the ambiance is very pleasant (40's movies). Food is very good, prices in line with other white linen restaurants in Springfield. Service was a bit slow on our most recent visit but apparently someone called in sick.
Truely a classy joint. One even Rick "Casablanca" would find extroidinary. The food is great. The drink selection is excellent. Drinks are made very well. The music is electic and at a volume acceptable to both conversation and listening pleasure. I began going to Lime Street in 1992 and have been a regular since. For pleasure and business clients, everyone I've taken has agreed. Lime Street knows what they're doing when it comes to "adult" dining and entertainment pleasure. My British born & raised Mother tells me it equals many of the finest places she's frequented in England!
Don't go if it's cheap you want. For all you experience, pricey is a good thing.
