User Rating: 5 out of 5 starsI have been eating the gyros here for 30 plus years and the Hassakis family home-makes some of the best Greek food found anywhere. The baklava is sooooo good! For the reviewer who thought the family was not friendly....Mrs. Hassakis is old-school Greek, nice and warm if she knows you, and a little shy if she doesn't. She WILL however expect you to clean your plate, but that's not a problem here!! This is a lunch only place, they are not open after 5pm.
User Rating: 5 out of 5 starsAbsolutely the best kept secret of Mt. Vernon. Jimmie James Blue Goose has wonderful greek food. Mrs. James and her son are always busy but always friendly. Their Gyros are simply the best. If you are looking for something different try their greek salad, cabbage rolls. But what ever you do you must save room for dessert as their Bakalava is gooey and delicious.
