Bill's BBQ

certainly one of the best sandwiches in the country. i am a certified bbq judge (kcbs). bill's is one of the best i have ever had. (sandwich) i have been all over the country, north-south-east-west and have never had a better bbq sandwich than bill's in metropolis, il. local folks but great food. yes the buns are toasted a bit which makes it better. not served on a stale, cold bun. sauce is great. not sweet syrup stuff, real bbq sauce home made at the restaurant. if you are ever near metropolis, il you need to stop in and try one, they are great.

I grew up in Metro and have since moved around the country and I have NEVER found BBQ better than Bill's. And their special sauce makes it that much better. It's the ultimate in good old hometown food. I make to sure to get at least 2 lbs of BBQ and plenty of sauce to take back with me when I go home to visit the family.

I lived in Metropolis 3 yrs and ate at Bill's every Saturday. I have never found any BBQ with better taste or texture. Bill hand chops the pork with cleavers by hand. It is so tender you don't need teeth. I have since moved and driven 5 hrs just to get a taste. By the way...the buns are toasted...a little extra that makes Bill's the best BBQ anywhere.
