Arguably one of the better bars in town, over all. Pinch Penny Pub, part of the Pinch Penny Complex (Pub, Liquor Store, Beer Garden & Entertainment Venue - Copper Dragon). You have a large outdoor beer garden, where the younger patrons generally congregate and the inside bar with multiple plasma screen TV's for watching Cardinals games (or Cubs, if you have to), SIU Saluki sports, etc ... the food is decent, but the place isn't very clean. To be perfectly honest, they have a little bit of a roach issue. On a positive note, P3 also has one of the better selections of draft beer in town. You can get more here than the standard macro beers from Bud, Miller & Coors. Several selections from Goose Island, AB seasonals and harder to finds like Boddinton's Pub Ale and, lately, Hoegaarden. No Schlafly beers for some reason though, likely due to the owner's affinity for Anheuser Busch products.

A decent place to grab a beer, but their "pest problem" freaks me out a little bit.

A great place for fun.: I went to this bar often while attending SIUC. It has great bands there just about every weekend....while the weather is warm...in their Beer Garden and is reasonably priced.
