Went to CrueFest there in July. As far as the setup of the place it's great. Lots of parking, although it's a bit hard to find if you don't know the area. However make sure to bring lots of cash if you plan on buying and food or drink. WAY overpriced. I paid four time the price I normally pay for a bottle of water, and don't even ask about the price of a bottle of beer. But like I said overall not a bad place, nice seating (and mostly covered), great security, good parking. I would go back but I'd bring my own cooler if I could.
The worst venue in St. Louis. The lawn seats are horrible. It feels like you're a mile away. The audio is ok. The venue borders a landfill so the smell of garbage is sometimes overwhelming. Traffic in and out of the venue is poorly managed. Drinking is not allowed in the parking lot, and it's heavily enforced.
I got pick pocket at the point show in september 07. discovered my wallet was missing (which i had a chain on) during the first song of chevelle (one of my favorite bands). I was pretty pissed. but i went to the customer service desk and a couple behind he was dropping it off. the good news was i didnt have any cash in it, the bad news i did have my ssc and a credit card which was stolen out of it. i did get my money back from the bank and i did get a new ssc.
Just be warned, i would only bring an id and some small cash with you to any rock concert in st louis. I thought i would be ok because i had the added security of a wallet chain....
as far as the venue, its ok, i would only do lawn unless your favorite band plays on the main stage then i would do pit, seats are pretty much a waste. If you favorite band plays on the side stages during a festival, then its a blast! expect to wait an hour to get out of the parking lot after the show!
