This is the most fun to be had in STL on a Friday night for kids of all ages! Admission after 5 pm is discounted and the museum stays open until 1 am. After 11:00 they turn out the lights and let you do it in the dark so bring your flashlights and enjoy exploring. There's live entertainment and a bar for the over 21 crowd. A great date night or place to hang with friends on the patio while the kids explore. If you like a little good natured competition the ball pit always provides an enthusiastic game of dodge ball. Bottled water for rehydration after the game is even reasonably priced at $2 a bottle.
Overprotective parents be warned, this is probably not the place for you as all of the tunnels and mazes are made from recycled industrial materials and don't provide the same sort of McPlay area environment that you may be used to.

My 18 year old son went with his Senior Class to the Museum where they spent the entire day. He said that they all felt like the were 6 years old again. And spent the rest of the week telling his brothers and myself how much he loved it there. They found so many things to see and do. Said it was the best field trip they had went on in all the years he has been in school!

We love the city museum! The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is due to the price. Your kids can be set free to run, explore, imagine and learn. The outside mazes do give me a heart attack though. I make my husband follow behind them every step of the way. Thankfully, the love the marshmallow pit just as well. This is a huge assett to the St. Louis area. We live an hour away and go as often as we can!
