| About: | Sanfilippo's is a modest family-run restaurant with excellent, Sicilian-tinged food. There is an Old World feel to the casual dining room with Italian murals, white tablecloths and soft lighting. About 20 excellent (and modestly priced) pastas, such as Rigatoni Giuseppe (a spicy cream sauce of fresh tomato, vodka and shallots) populate the menu. Veal, chicken, seafood and beef entrees, such as Shrimp Bianco (huge shrimp in a brandy Cajun cream sauce) and Veal Sanfilippo (medallions of veal in a cabernet wine sauce) are on offer as well. For dessert, enjoy the home baked breads and homemade cannolis. |

Mama's rolls. Yum! Awesome Italian food from Joe, Connie, Paul, Anna, Mama and Family. Great food at reasonable cost for homemade. Pleasant atmosphere. Real Italian meals with authentic homemade sauces. No out of a can or jar here. We have been there once, twice, and often. Who needs The Hill when JF Sanfilippo's does it so much better?
I stayed at the adjacent restaurant for a nfl game and had the pleasure of dining at this restaurant. My sons and I though on a fixed budget were able to eat fabulous food at a great price. Everything had an authentic, homemade Italian taste. They seriously should consider a patent for their meat sauce, absolutely fabulous. The bread we found out were baked by the owner's Mother each morning. I ate more of those than I intended. Drinks were well mixed and the atmosphere and service was impeccable.
The real thing: Spent a few days visiting a friend in St. Louis and after an hour of me flipping through the visitor's guide trying to find a place to eat, I picked this one. What a find! We got there about 30 minutes before they closed, so it was practically empty. Great service, our waiter was so nice and friendly. The real italian food was awesome - the family that runs and operates it are from Italy (I know, they responded when I said "ci piace moltissimo! ArrivaderLa"). The prices were just about what you'd expect to find too. Wine selection... eh... it's lacking but they had a few good ones on there. We chose the Wild Horse Cab Sav which is always a good choice. I had the Ravioli di pesci (ravioli stuffed with shrimp and scallops) and it came served in a zesty cream sauce. We also had the Mussels alla Marinara and the ceasar salads. Again, great place to eat
