| About: | Named after Missouri politician Robert E. Hannegan, the restaurant is modeled after the U.S. Senate Dining Room. In other words, it instantly brings to mind luxury and patriotism. Many of the menu items, dating back over 20 years, are traditional American favorites. The house specialty is a 20-ounce stuffed, double-rib pork chop. A full bar is available. The restaurant will appeal to those who enjoy comfortable booth dining, flag-adorned walls and lively acoustics. Local jazz musicians frequently provide evening entertainment. |

We went on Valentines Day for lunch, which was a Saturday afternoon. There was no crowd, we were seated right away, it was a great atmosphere, and great for families. Keep in mind though, it's a different crowd at night. The service was excellent, the food was spectacular, and we will visit it again. Everything was spotless, including the restrooms. This was our first time, and it was definitely the right choice!
Told we had to wait 30 minutes for a table to open up eventhough the restaurant was empty. When asking the bartender to order at the bar the response was that it would take just as long. Waitor was ok, water was kept full. Thank you! Food was horrible and this would be the last place I would eat in the downtown STL area. Bathrooms were very dirty and the womens was not even open. Also, we were attacked by fruitflies during our entire meal. Thats all.
Main course was ok but calamari appetizer was overcooked. Service was rather slow. Folks appeared to be hustling, but apparently not enough staff. Had to stack our finished plates and flag someone down for the check.

If you had to wait 30 minutes for a table did you take into acount that the patio was full which it usually is in the summer. If you went to the landing during the fourth of Jully weekend as I do with my husband and children every year I highly doubt that anything was empty the landing is crawling with tourists during this time. Hannegan's happens to be one of my favorite restaurants, the restaurant is always very clean bathrooms INCLUDED. the food is spectacular the Jack Daniel's bbq chicken is to die for and the service is always awesome. If you have nothing nice to say or nothing relevant at all for that matter just try not saying anything. thanks.
