About:This pub is as close to Dublin as you can get in St. Louis. You will find a large selection of beers, including 16 on tap, and live Irish bands frequently perform traditional Celtic music here. If you are looking for comfort food, especially on a chilly evening, try the traditional Irish potato soup, which is thick with potatoes, celery and onions and topped with cheese. If you are looking for the Irish-American favorite of corned beef and cabbage, you can order that, too. McGurk's was named Best Pub by an area publication.

Awful staff. Over charge. Attract trashy people. And in a high risk place for your car to be broken in to.

My 2 favorite bartenders: Lucky and Johnny N! The BEST fish and chips! Great atmosphere, too. Not a place if you want a quiet dinner after 7 p.m. though. Authentic Irish Pub with great food, beer, and service. The Irish bands are imported from Ireland and stay there for a month or so at a time. Unique place.

What a great experience!!!: One my first visit to St. Louis, my friend took me to this, one of his fave places. The place is amazing! The ambiance is truly wonderful and when I asked him what he recommended he told me that everything here was great. We started with the onion petals and they were really good. I ordered the fish & chips and it was melt in your mouth delicious. He ordered the BBQ chicken sandwich that looked yummy but I did not try b/c my meal was so filling. However, when the waitress offered dessert, we could not resist the chocolate torte. Mmmm, very rich and very sinful. The entire meal was fabulous. Our waitress was very attentive and friendly. We never had to ask her for anything, she was on top of her game-which I really appreciate. We sat outside and the day was beautiful. Our table was beside the koy pond and my b/f fed them while I watched. We were able to relax & enjoy our meal, dessert and drinks without feeling rushed out of the place. It was like we were at home in our garden. We were able to sit and talk and really share the time together. When we left, we walked through the restaurant and it is charming inside. Really homey atmosphere that makes you feel really welcome. Oh, the value was great! Our meal was reasonably priced and well worth it-even if it had been twice the amount. Thanks McGurk's!
