User Rating: 1 out of 5 starsI/we live in the neighborhood and often wondered what the Iron Barley was all about. The positives are: great atmosphere, friendly staff. Now the negatives: the food selection is all over the map, most dishes were things I/we never heard of, prices where never mentioned on specials unless the host was directly asked, soda was watered down, chicken was dry and tough, roast beef was dry, smashed potatoes gravy was overspriced, music selection not fitting for a restaurant atmosphere (Indie genre), restroom in the WRONG place. Definately not worth the prices for the food offered. Overheard people saying it was rated best in town, I strongly disagree. I/we will NEVER return.

the service was pleasant and the food was terrific...This place is a little gem tucked away ! and even if your not familiar its worth it!!

User Rating: 5 out of 5 starsGo here even if you don"t like barley! I had the crab sandwich, with potato salad. It was wonderful! Not too bready and the chile mayo was perfect. At my table they also had the barbeque pulled chicken sandwich recommended by the server. Touch the right touch of smoke! The side picked was the barley. The last entree was the rueben with the smashed potatoes. Our sides were all great! The server was friendly, I didn't notice slow service, but we got there early, sat in the back so nobody looked over our shoulder! They were even having music later that evening. We're not local, but will go again if in the area. The food was special!!
